Lutherans believe in the Triune God. God created and loves all of creation -- the earth and the seas and all of the worlds inhabitants. We believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life, and we trust that God's Spirit is active in the world.
We are part of God's unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere. When we study the Bible or hear God's word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God's own saving story.
The convictions shared by Christians from many different traditions are expressed in statements of belief called creeds.
These ecumenical creeds that Lutherans affirm and use in worship confess the faith of the church through the ages and around the world.
The Confession of Faith of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is part
of our founding constitution. The ELCA accepts the following creeds as true
declarations of the faith of this church:
The Apostles Creed
The Nicene Creed
The Athanasian Creed
We are a community of Gods people bound together by His Grace, His love and His Word. Because of our identity in Christ, we seek to make his presence visible in our contemporary mobile community by providing an inclusive, open, welcoming and inviting environment. We seek to worship, learn and live in accordance with Gods Word, and therefore involve ourselves in serving the local and global needs of Gods people.
We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America...we trace our faith heritage back through European settlers, through the reformers of the 16th century, back through history to the first followers of Jesus Christ and even to the great women and men of the First (or Old) Testament.
Locally we are a part of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod and our synod office is in Tulsa. We belong to the Central Oklahoma Conference which includes congregations from Shawnee to Yukon, Norman to Edmond.
